I honestly don't know. And it really baffles my brain why people do that.
There's also plenty of documenteries and tales about the ladies who are working in these kinds of 'sexwork without providing actual sex' bussiness. But sadly, barely any interresting material on the customers, and why these seemingly poor chumps do what they do.

But if I were to put on my top-hat, entirely made out of tin-foil. I could come up with at least one possibility:
Money laundring: Lets say I just robbed a place, or did some good old fashioned fraud on some institution. Instead of creating a whole legitimate bussiness Enterprise, to turn the stolen money into legally acquired money: I could just have a girl I know become an OF model. She would receive 500 bucks for ever picture she sends of her pinky-toe, from a mysterious, wealthy online admirer of her talents.
Plot twist: the wealthy admirer was me al along! And by keeping a small portion of the profit, she can then buy me shit with my stolen money, without the feds comming to knock on my door, asking how I suddenly got this PS5 and sweet new sportscar, while being a broke sonovabeech.
